The Crab Ladies ® has been four
years in the making. It has taken us that long to figure out how to freeze
our jumbo lump crab cakes without compromising the taste.
Initially, we wanted very much to sell fresh crab cakes, but we soon realized
that the logistics of mailing a fresh product limited our market so we
kept experimenting to find a solution — A frozen crab cake that tastes
as good as a fresh one.
And, it excites us to be able to tell you that we did it. Our crab cakes
are “AWESOME.” We know that because we have very high standards, we love
them and our “friends” that have tried them think so too. But, since the
crab cake creators and their friends may not be convincing enough, our
catering
clients agree.

The Crab Ladies company and its products grew out of our previously woman
owned catering company, Venues Incorporated (Venues). Our Venues Jumbo
Lump crab cakes were always one of the food dishes our corporate and private
catering clients requested, raved about and ordered again and again (with such
testimonials as “I love crab cakes and these are the best crab cakes I
have ever had”).
During the four years thinking about, planning for and developing The
Crab Ladies company and products, we discovered that there were many companies
selling crab cakes. But, we also discovered that there were crab cake
market needs that were not being filled.
Those market needs included crab cakes for people with Celiac disease
(a disease that requires a gluten-free diet) and crab cakes for those
who wanted something more than a basic crab cake.
To allow people allergic to gluten to be able to eat crab cakes (and tasty
ones at that) and provide all crab cake lovers with other crab cake options,
we created three different gluten-free crab cakes….all made with Jumbo Lump crab meat
and sold frozen.
These include the following:

- An Artichoke Three-Cheese Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
- A Bacon and Gruyere Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
